JS took a nontraditional path to medicine, having first begun his career as a German teacher before deciding to make a career switch. After medical school he served in the U.S. military on a peacekeeping mission to Egypt, where he witnessed firsthand the 2011 revolution. JS feels it’s important to review each patient’s full health history in order to address important issues that may have been ignored and are holding them back in their journey toward health. "I love working with people to reach their goals," JS says. "Whether it’s to run marathons, recover from surgery, or simply remain independent, everyone has their own personal goals. Helping people be healthy to reach their goals is a wonderful profession." JS lives in Potrero Hill and enjoys walking, playing Ultimate Frisbee, and SCUBA diving.
